Nina Ansaroff stood up for her fiancee. After the UFC women’s featherweight champion, Cris Cyborg, called Amanda Nunes a traitor to her country for moving to the United States and training at American Top Team, Ansaroff decided it was time to respond to some of Cristiane’s claims.
In a interview for Combate, Nina called Cyborg stupid for pointing her finger at Amanda while Cris herself is also a United States citizen and has lived in the country for longer than Nunes.
“You can’t call a person a traitor because they train in the United States. She (Cyborg) is an American citizen, she’s been living in America for longer than Amanda, her boyfriend is American, I’m American. What’s the difference? Before the UFC was in Brazil, they all fought among themselves, just like in America. Then it became an international sport.
‚ÄúI don‚Äôt know who put that in her head. Or how she cheered for Tecia Torres, a friend of ours, when she fought Jessica Andrade. I don‚Äôt see how that makes any sense. There are other ways to promote a fight. They‚Äôre two great athletes, Brazilian champions. Cyborg is being stupid.‚ÄĚ
Cris Cyborg is expected to meet Amanda Nunes for a superfight with the featherweight belt on the line on December 29, at UFC 232, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
