FACEBOOK moderators got the willies when a lad shared this snap of his hairless newborn puppy.

Dominic Ibaos’s picture of three-day-old pup Dimitri was mistaken for something much ruder and was banned from the social network.

Dominic Ibaos was mystified when Facebook banned this photo of his newborn puppy

The close-up picture, posted on a group for animal lovers, shows the tiny pet asleep on Dominic’s hand with his bald body and wrinkled neck on show.

But a member flagged it as porn — and Facebook told him it “doesn’t follow our community standards”.

Dominic, 16, was at first mystified but then saw the funny side as his photo went viral with more than 60,000 likes and shares.

Dimitri is not in fact not a sausage dog or a cocker spaniel but a rare xoloitzcuintli breed, also known as a Mexican hairless dog.

Dominic, of Davao City in the Philippines, said: “It’s really hard for me to see the penis perspective because when I look at it I always just see the puppy.

“I got a notification saying it had been blocked a few minutes after I posted it to the group.

“At that time I didn’t realise it looked like a penis because when I first posted it to Facebook all I saw was a photograph of an innocent puppy.

“It actually made me really angry for a moment, but I feel better about it now because people find it hilarious.

“I find it really funny that it’s causing all this attention because it looks like a penis, yet the photo is something I can keep sharing because it’s also not.

“It just makes me happy that people find it so funny. One person told me it was the best laugh they’d had for weeks.”

Dimitri was born in a litter of three to mum Daisy, but he is the only hairless puppy.

The unfortunate lookalike follows in the footsteps of Dimitri’s hairless dad Dante, who has become a local hero for his likeness to his goofy namesake in Disney Pixar’s animated blockbuster Coco.

Dominic, who has 12 dogs, said: “The hairless dogs are really quite rare where I live.

“Usually we don’t really see dogs without hair and it’s really funny to see one.

“I love the breed. People get weirded out when they touch the dog’s skin – they think the dog’s had an illness or that I have shaved him.”

Yesterday we told how a pet owner was stunned to learn the cute puppy she bought for £140 was actually a fox.

Last month a hangdog pooch with thick eyebrow markings was named the world’s saddest-looking dog.
