A fake body and blood at a Brisbane unit complex prompted a full-scale police investigation, but what was initially investigated as a potential abduction or homicide turned out to be an elaborate prank.
Queensland Police Service Crime and Intelligence Co-ordinator for Brisbane region Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming said an Uber driver contacted police on Tuesday evening after they had been called to a property on Oxley Road, Sherwood, and their passenger tried to place what looked like a body into the boot of their car.
‚ÄúThe Uber driver was naturally quite concerned about this and he fled the scene,‚ÄĚ Superintendent Fleming said.
“A little while later he contacted police and naturally an investigation was commenced as a result of that.
‚ÄúAn investigation was commenced to identify firstly if someone had been hurt, whether someone had been abducted or if someone had been killed.‚ÄĚ
