Metrolinx is trying to pin down details on a point-of-view video posted to Instagram showing someone riding on the roof of a moving GO Transit train.
Spokesman Nitish Bissonauth said he came across the video on Saturday night from the private account @6ixBuzzTV and flagged it to the transit agency’s safety team. He was informed they were already investigating the incident.
‚ÄúThey have made progress in their investigation, but we still won‚Äôt be releasing any information as to when this incident happened and which line,‚ÄĚ he said. ‚ÄúThey do have an idea. On the video itself, you can see the car number, and based on the location and day and time, they‚Äôre able to figure that out.‚ÄĚ
Bissonauth said it‚Äôs very ‚Äúshocking‚ÄĚ to see a stunt like this, adding it‚Äôs not a common occurrence.
‚ÄúIt‚Äôs a very dangerous, illegal and stupid act,‚ÄĚ he said Tuesday.
If the video shooter is identified, the person can be fined ‚Äúin the thousands of dollars‚ÄĚ or receive a GO ban. Police may also be involved and criminal charges could be laid.
