Motorists have been getting stuck in a Lidl car park today – because of an over-stacked line of TROLLEYS.

Shoppers at the store in Plymouth have been branded “stupid” by follow drivers who were having to reverse out of the store’s car park to avoid the jam.

Customers took to social media to rage at shop staff for failing to shift the trolleys around between shelters before the line got chock-a-block on Saturday lunchtime.

One woman said on the Plymouth Gossip Girls Facebook group that the same thing happens “every day”.

But today some motorists were finding themselves trapped in the car park and having to back out in order to prevent tailbacks onto busy Plymouth Road, in Plympton.

One mum said: “People’s stupidity amazes me on a daily basis.

“It was annoying as it was really busy and they were also blocking parking spaces.

“We couldn’t believe people were just adding trolleys as if it was normal to block the road. I can’t believe people were adding to it.

“My husband and daughter were with me and we just laughed at them. We really couldn’t understand how they thought it was ok.

“There were a few drivers that pulled down that way and got annoyed as they had to reverse back out again.”

The mum, who did not wish to be named, said she was unable to raise the incident with staff. And it didn’t appear anyone else had either.

Plymouth Live contacted Lidl to ask how often the trolley shelters are checked and were told a message would be passed to the store manager and a press officer.

“No one mentioned it as far as I know,” the mum said. “I was going to speak to the cashier but he was too busy chatting to someone on his headset whilst serving us.

“They really need someone that goes out and checks them from time to time as there is quite often loads in this park and none in the one outside the store, not ideal for disabled people.”
