Addressing supporters in the United Kingdom, MDC-T president Nelson Chamisa declared that he would give away his 18-year-old sister to President Emmerson Mnangagwa if the incumbent managed to get just 5 percent of the total vote in a free and fair election. Said Chamisa,
If Mnangagwa wins 5% in a free election, I will give him my sister. I have a sister who just turned 18 and looking for a husband. Iâ€™m betting on this because I know it wonâ€™t happen.
However, Chamisaâ€™s remarks evoked a number of different reactions from people with some condemning the presidential hopeful for his language which they said was misogynistic and disrespectful of women.
