Bea Campbell was born to a working-class, communist family in Carlisle.
Bea‚Äôs years as a young London journalist for the Morning Star, coincided with the eruption of the women‚Äôs liberation movement in the early 1970s.
As a result, her politics, her work, and her marriage were transformed.
She continued to work as a journalist and author for many years, dividing opinions with her radical and progressive views.
Bea is a columnist and playwright, and has written books on subjects ranging from feminism to Princess Diana.
Beatrix Campbell was awarded an OBE in 2009, for services to equality. She wore Vivien Westwood to the ceremony and no hat.
