A driver from Camborne had a near-miss on Friday morning and has shared the footage online to warn others about inconsiderate driving.
Sharing the footage, the driver said: “Is it any wonder there are so many accidents on our roads when there are idiots like this out there.
“Video from my dash cam this morning… Had to turn off the sound as my reaction would make your ears bleed.”
However the video has divided opinion, with some questioning whether the driver pulled out into the right-hand lane of the dual-carriageway too early.
Commenting on Cornwall Live’s Facebook page, Matthew Hawke said: “Agree it was dangerous but the majority of road users on dual carriageways when it‚Äôs busy sit in lane two without overtaking.
“You should only use lane two to overtake, not sit in a line of traffic going at 50/60mph because there is a slow moving vehicle somewhere in the distance. At times lane one is empty because people don’t drive correctly.”
Mark Williams added: “Two weeks ago, traveling home on the A30, a woman in a blue Touran hogged the fast lane for five miles at 55/60mph.
“Needless to say, she wasn’t overtaking anything, everything in the slow lane was traveling faster than her. She had ample opportunity to pull over and didn’t bother. No wonder people get pissed off.”
Jamie Smallman posted: “They’re actually doing the correct thing driving up to the vehicle in the way and overtaking, the car in the outside lane has no right being there until he comes up to something he needs to overtake!”
Jason Morris wrote: “Ok guys. From an advanced drivers perspective and knowing that junction on the A30 very well camera car was correct.
“He may have just overtaken someone before this video started (unclear what happened before video started) and so is in lane two approaching the junction.
“It would be unsafe to move back to lane one until clear of the junction. It has very short slip road and so potentially a car coming on can force late lane change to avoid therefore it is safer to stay out.
“He then sees tractor ahead so again stays in lane two correctly. Camera car correct all day long.
“Undertaking car an idiot and situation could have had worse outcome.”
Andy Porter quipped: “Driver with the dash cam can‚Äôt really criticise too much. He wouldn’t have been undertaken if he‚Äôd been in the correct lane in the first place.”
Michael Rogers said: “Well the whole point of the overtaking lane is to use it to overtake.
“If he’d bothered with that shiny oblong thing in the top middle of the windscreen, known as a mirror, and seen matey coming up, he could and should have moved behind the tractor and allowed the faster vehicle to pass.”
Michael Adamson wrote: “I hate that! This is a driver that deserves a five year ban and the police could do that because his number plate is plain to see, but they won’t. They should, but they won’t and they will always have a reason why. I will continue to fail to see that reason.”
Benji Barker added: “Can tell the holidaymakers are down, everything is a million miles an hour.
“A lot of shocking driving has suddenly appeared, U-turns in the road, evasive driving, you’re on holiday just take it easy before someone dies.”
Simon Henson commented: “In lane two letting cars on from the slip road saw the tractor so stayed there.
“How do we know the idiot undertaking hadn’t kept at the side of them so they couldn’t get back over?
“Then realised he needed to either slow down and get out into lane two or do the stupid thing of speeding up and undertaking to get round?”
Sharon Stoneman replied: “Many hog the middle lane on a motorway and they think they are overtaking fresh air so it‚Äôs just not a dual carriageway. Some have no idea how to drive so thank goodness it‚Äôs brought in on a driving test now. I‚Äôve been guilty of it.”
Robert Trebor responded: “There is a habit of outside lane sitting on this stretch of road!
“That is inconsiderate driving… I don’t agree with what the driver did right there but it’s not surprising.
“I see it every morning. The outside lane is for overtaking only, not sitting there at your leisure cos you’re going to Truro.”

Carolyn Weighill OA Dip said: “The idiot with the dashcam needs to go study the highway code.
“He was hogging the lane way before he needed to manoeuvre out to overtake the tractor. Yes, it was a dangerous undertake but would probably not have happened if the camera car was driving legally.”
